Can I hear a ghost talk to me or do I have to use a recording device? Both, actually! If you can hear it with your own two ears, that's considered a disembodied voice. If you only hear it on a recording, then that is consider an EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon).

What are all the white dots / orbs I see in pictures that I take? Are they ghosts? The "orbs" that many people believe to be ghosts are actually not. Almost all "orbs" in photos are dust, bugs, vapor, or other normal air particulates.

What is up with all the faces I see in photos? The reason people make out faces in these odd photo phenomenon is because of Matrixing - or the mind's automatic way of comprehending random shapes into something that it thinks is familiar, like faces.

What is a poltergeist? Poltergeists are not really a ghost or spirit, but actually an unconscious and/or unintentional psychic release or energies by a person. The people involved are usually female, and are undergoing physiological changes or a lot of stress. This is still just in its theoretical stages, but is the current theory on this type of haunting.

Why is it said that children seem to be more 'in tune' with the paranormal? Many people believe that children are more unbiased as they haven't been taught to think such things are impossible or unlikely.

Can a ghost harm me? Typically the answer is no, but there are some occasions where an entity might push a person, or scratch them. These instances are quite rare. There are also some cases of full bodily possession, but these cases are the rarest of them all.

What are some normal explanations to typical things people assume are signs of hauntings? Some normal things that people think are ghosts can be quite extensive. the following isn't every example, but should cover the bases. Bad wiring that causes high EMF; Heating/Cooling systems that rapidly change temperature that causes loud noises, knocks, or sometimes what seem like explosion sounds; Animals that can cause knocking, tapping, rustling, or growling sounds; Plumbing can cause vibrations, loud thumping, whistling, and smells, along with many other things.

Why are most investigations done at night? One of the current theories is that if an entity can manifest itself, it will be in the form of light. Investigating in the dark allows us to see light much better than in the day, and even if we cannot see the light with our own eyes, it is thought that the infrared video cameras may be able to see it.

Can ghosts go through walls? If so, how? It is thought that entities can absolutely go through walls. If the theory is true that ghosts are composed of energy, then energy should be able to pass through the molecules of 'solid' objects.

Is there a way for me to get rid of a ghost that I don't want in my house? Several paranormal investigators and teams will agree that if you come together as a family, and firmly state that you no longer wish an entity to be there, it will likely leave. Sometimes you must tell the entity that it must move on, but be sure to let them know that they are simply not welcomed in your home. If this does not work, we urge you to contact a local team for more detailed assistance.

Can a ghost follow me? This question has been discussed many times among investigators, and to MOPS, it seems that a ghost can indeed follow you if it so chooses. While this isn't the case for every single entity out there, it does happen from time to time.

Why are so many groups opposed to using a Ouija board? The reason for this is that when people use Ouija boards and other divination devices, they can open themselves up to unknown things that they did not mean to. If you would like a deeper explanation, please do note hesitate to e-mail us. We understand this is not an easy concept to grasp.

Do you charge for investigations? No. We offer our services entirely free of charge. While we will accept any donation, we will never ask for one. We're glad to simply have the chance to come investigate for our clients.

Can I come investigate with you guys? Typically not. We are however willing to make an exception that if you can get us a case that is not your own house, then we will talk to the owner to see if they would allow it. We offer this as a kind of 'thank you' for helping us finding another case.

Do you allow clients to stay during investigations? We typically ask that we can have the premises to ourselves for the entirety of the investigation if at all possible. The reason we ask this is to reduce the chance of contamination to the data collected via audio recorder, video, and by our investigators own senses. We will never force anyone to leave, but we do recommend it.
